2009 - 2010 Fitness Programs & Events
Frequently, during each semester, special events such as fitness challenges, weight
lifting contests, walking competitions, healthy eating workshops, and discussions on health and overall wellness are held to promote community fitness & wellness.
Fall 2009
- Sunday, August 23rd
- 2:00 - 4:30pm
- UNC Charlotte Recreational Fields
Free food, drinks, and t-shirts plus informational tables, games, group fitness and sport club demonstrations, and a DJ!!
- Thursday, August 27th
- 5:30 - 7:30pm
- SAC Aerobics Room
Come and get a 10 - 15 minute sample/demonstration of all the group fitness classes offered during the school year and the instructors who teach them. T-shirts will be given to the first 100 people!!!

Max Bench Press Competition - Wed., Sept. 2nd: Are you the strongest person on campus? Prove it!
Stair Warrior Challenge - Wed., Oct. 7th: How many floors/feet can you climb in 1-minute?
Crunch Challenge - Wed., Nov. 4th: Test your abdominal muscular endurance with this 1-minute fitness assessment.

Get On The Ball - Wed., Sept. 16th: Learn exercises using the stability ball, medicine ball, and BOSU.
Flex Appeal - Wed., Oct. 21st: Get stretched out by our trainers and learn the benefits of stretching, and ways to decrease muscle soreness.
Holiday Eating & Exercise - Wed., Nov. 18th: Control food portions during the holiday season and learn exercises to do at home.

Jump Start Your Heart - Wed., Feb. 17th: Learn how to integrate interval training into National Healthy Heart Month.
National Nutrition Month - Wed., March 17th: What better way to recognize National Nutrition Month than to review your current diet/eating habits with a Registered Dietician.
